In late January, MDI in partnership with the Sustainable Farming Association (SFA), hosted a lunch-and-learn workshop in Alexandria, MN. The topic of this event was manure management and cover crops: practical strategies for dairy success. The presenters for the event were SFA’s Doug Voss and Derek Schmitz. Doug and Derek shared their knowledge regarding cover crops and manure management and shared what works on their respective farms. Producers left the workshop with valuable tools and knowledge to help them implement cover crops on their farm and ideas to help them most efficiently manage the value that they have in their manure. The event boasted over 60 attendees and all attendees are encouraged to enroll in MDI to help improve their dairy farming operations!
